It’s that time of year again, pumpkins glow, ghosts giggle, and the smell of toasted marshmallows fills the autumn air.
At Global Fire & Security, we love seeing everyone embrace the Halloween spirit, but we also know that candles, costumes, and creative decorations can sometimes lead to unwanted scares (and not the fun kind!).
Here are our top fire and safety tips to keep your Halloween full of treats, not tricks:
🕯 1. Keep Flames Fright-Free
Candles look great inside pumpkins, but battery powered tea lights or LEDs are much safer. They give you the glow without the risk.
🧛 2. Watch Those Costumes
Flowing fabrics and flammable materials can turn from spooky to smoky fast. Look for flame-resistant costumes, or give capes a little trim.
🚪 3. Clear Your Escape Routes
Make sure decorations don’t block fire exits or walkways. In an emergency, every second counts (even if it feels like the zombies are slow).
🔋 4. Test Your Alarms
Before the festivities begin, give your smoke and CO alarms a quick test. It’s a small step that can make a huge difference.
🧯 5. Keep an Eye Out (Even Behind the Mask!)
If you’re running an event or hosting guests, designate someone to be your “Safety Ghost”, a person to check that everything stays safe throughout the night.
At Global Fire & Security, we’re dedicated to protecting what matters, all year round. Whether it’s your home, business, or community event, safety doesn’t have to be scary.
Stay safe, stay spooky, and have a fantastic Halloween!
