The existing site had an obsolete fire alarm system which was replaced with a new open protocol system. The building fabric included a large amount of asbestos.
Implementation
Careful planning was carried out to ensure the installation of cabling and devices was co-ordinated to work around the areas that contained asbestos to ensure any risk was kept to a minimum. This was carried out using the asbestos register and site surveys prior to installation.
